A reasonable question, and I certainly respect your right to hold and
express your views! I hope that you will be equally open to my own
observations...
When a baby is first conceived, it is also a "new
creation", but just as it is possible for there to be a physical
miscarriage, there can also be a spiritual "miscarriage", better known as
"apostasy" in the scripture. Our salvation is both received and maintained
on the basis of FAITH. Faith is the umbilical cord by which we are
connected to - and sealed in - Christ. But "faith without works" (obedience
and action as described in Hebrews) is "DEAD" and believers who continue in
such a state will ultimately be "assigned a place with unbelievers."
Personally, I do not believe that signing up to run the race is the same
thing as finishing the race and collecting your prize...
