Grace Christian Fellowship Banbridge

This is my local fellowship. We meet every Monday night at 8pm in David McBrides house. We have a time of praise and then sound doctrinal study. We are small in number, 10-12.Numbers are not the issue. Spiritual growth is the issue. Here we learn not only the "what to" but the "how to". If you would like to keep up to date with our studies and be added to our email list, send me your email address to : mark@markkwilliamson.com

Walking by means of the Spirit

posted Saturday, 18 August 2007
In our Monday night meetings at Grace Christian Fellowship, we are currently studying the "Spiritual Life", and the "How To's" of "Walking by means of the Spirit". Christianity is not about getting saved and riding off into the sunset and all will be well, nor is it about getting "Busy for Jesus" and burning ourselves out trying to do everything in the energy of the flesh. Our goal is to become exactly like Christ in His humanity.(Romans 8 v 28-30) A reachable goal! God has provided us a means by which we can do this. This means is called the "Holy Spirit". Each of us as believers have the indwelling Holy Spirit inside us, in our New Man. When we learn how to operate out of this new man, will we produce the Christ-like life and produce the 9 fold fruit of the Spirit, Galations 5 v 22-23. Paul tell us in Galations 5 v 15 to "Walk by means of the Spirit". It is this verse that the study of the Spiritual life stems from. How do we walk by means of the Spirit? The following link is a document by my good friend and mentor, Dr Jim Brettell. Why should I try to re-invent the wheel, when he says what I want to say, so much better than I could ever say!

Or you can click on, "Documents by Dr Jim" on the right column. Another document in this list, which I would consider a "Must Read" is, "Christian you never have to sin again". If you take the time to read these two pieces, I can assure you of being made well aware of the purpose and goal of being a Christian and the "how to" of "Walking by means of the Spirit"
Enjoy.
